Proxy sites are websites that allow you to surf the web anonymously. The proxy site will redirect the signal from your computer through a proxy server, making it appear as though you are somewhere you are not. Any computer that is connected to the internet has an IP address. An IP, or internet protocol, address is a group of numbers that individually and specifically identifies every computer that is connected to the internet. This identification includes the actual location of that computer. A proxy site will basically redirect the traffic from your computer through a proxy server, replacing your IP address with the address of that proxy server. So now, rather than an address leading back to the computer in your living room at 123 Main St, All town USA, your IP address may appear to be from anywhere else in the world. Another use for proxy sites is to bypass security protocols to gain access to websites that may have been blocked. Many companies with multiple computers having access t
